5 Jewelry Staples Every 20-Something Needs

5 Jewelry Staples Every 20-Something Needs

Let’s be honest, your twenties are a completely different style era from your teens. With college, traveling, dating, and starting careers, it makes sense. But handpicking jewelry to go with never-ending outfits can be stressful. That’s why I’m sharing my cheat sheet for 5 jewelry staples everyone needs in their twenties.

Stud Earrings

Stud earrings are the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about my basics. Truthfully, they are one of the few pieces of jewelry I wear daily. Work, studs. Gym, studs. Home, studs. Running errands, studs. See what I mean?

They’re simple, classic, and the absolute easiest thing to dress up an outfit. 10/10 times I grab mine to help me look semi-decent when leaving the house in a rush. Don’t worry, they look amazing in your Sunday best too.

I can’t help but opt for classic circle studs, but there are so many options out there. For an edgier vibe, try a bar pair, or for a feminine look try tiny heart studs.

Pendant Necklace

Pendant necklaces go way back (the Stone Age!). So it’s no surprise that they’ve snuck their way into my top 5.

The best thing about pendant necklaces is that they can be worn with or without the pendant. Don’t get me wrong, the pendant is a definite plus. But it can’t hurt to keep your options open. And you can always switch out your pendants or add more.

I’m a big fan of the initial pendant necklace. It’s personalized and pairs well with tons of outfits. Whether it’s your initial, a loved one’s, or a sweet symbol, it’s uniquely you.

Stackable Rings

If you’re notorious for losing your rings (guilty as charged), you’ll want something that doesn’t get in your way while living up your 20s. Cue the stackable ring. They may be on-trend right now, but I have a pretty good feeling that they’ll be sticking around. From the groovy ring to the textured weave band there is something for everyone!

Why? They’re dainty and slim. This is because they were made to be worn with other rings. But it so happens that this makes them the perfect pick for 20ish-year-olds with busy lives. They’re less noticeable, so they won’t interfere while you’re on the go.

BTW, stacking is optional. Want to rock a solo ring? Go for it! When you’re ready, you can stack to your heart’s content. Just make sure you have the right size ring. If you haven’t measured yet, it’s time.

Hoop Earrings

IMO, hoops are a girl’s best friend. Whereas stud earrings are more subtle, hoop earrings are a standout accessory.

There are two main perks. 1. The circle shape accentuates your face. And 2. there are tons of sizes and styles. You can change them up based on your outfit, hairstyle, or mood. Plus, they’re fun to add to multiple piercings.

I like to grab my small hoops for shopping or a day at the beach. For nights out, it’s go big or go home. Pro tip: style your hair up or back to give them time to shine.

Chain Bracelet

Hot take: your wrist was made for more than just an Apple Watch. Adding a durable, chic chain bracelet to your jewelry lineup is a must. Come on, who doesn’t love that little jingle sound every once in a while?

If you thought friendship bracelets were a thing of the past, think again. It’s not a coincidence that we usually wear bracelets that remind us of loved ones. They’re one of the few pieces in our daily line of vision.

If the whole on/off business is stopping you. I get it. But that’s why permanent bracelets were invented. You literally do not need to remove it. It’s waterproof, so showering, swimming, exercising, and everything else is a non-issue. Bonus points for being a great option to get with a bestie.

Your twenties can be stressful, exciting, rough, and the best time of your life. Do yourself a favor and invest in some jewelry staples to join you for the ride. You won’t regret it.
